FLOOR AREA: 171 SQUARE METRES
FLOOR GARAGE: 50.5 SQUARE METRES

The owners of this contemporary farmhouse style home have a young family and their ideal home was one which could grow and evolve as the family did on their lifestyle block. A simple yet stylish look was achieved through lines of natural timber tones contrasting with clean, crisp plaster, providing a modern twist to the farmhouse aesthetic.

The brief was to create a private and semi-secluded dwelling, while allowing for as much natural sunlight to permeate the home year-round as possible. Challenges included a 4m high hedge and rural laneway adjacent to the site.

The orientation of the house allowed for various connections between the indoor spaces which would be separated off when not in use, while maximising the morning and evening sun. The main living area, master bedroom, kitchen and garage were located in the main form of the design, with the other bedrooms and the family bathroom in a separate wing accessed via a corridor opening out into a secluded courtyard area.
